Weekly Recap is a new weekly feature where we will discuss all things bookish on Lost in Literature.

I’ve linked to Stacking the Shelves, hosted by Tynga at Team Tynga’s Reviews

My Week in Books:

(Click on the cover to be taken to the Goodreads page.)

For Review:

One Past Midnight I Want It That Way (2B Trilogy #1) As Long As You Love Me (2B Trilogy #2)
Promposal How We Fall

Thank you to the authors, publishers, Netgalley and Edelweiss for these amazing titles for review!

Purchased:

7.19.14

Becca and I went to our awesome local book sale last weekend. We actually look forward to this day all year! 🙂 I was able to snag all of the books above, each for $1 or $2. Gotta love it!! I didn’t get quite as much as I thought I would this year, but I’m still happy with the few pretties I came home with.

Here’s my haul. All titles are linked to Goodreads:

The Loners (Quarantine #1) by Lex Thomas
The Saints (Quarantine #2) by Lex Thomas
Cross My Heart and Hope to Spy (Gallagher Girls #2) by Ally Carter
Bunheads by Sophie Flack
The Summer I Turned Pretty (Summer #1) by Jenny Han
The Sky is Everywhere by Jandy Nelson
Demonglass (Hex Hall #2) by Rachel Hawkins
Cruel Summer by Alyson Noel
Crank (Crank #1) by Ellen Hopkins
Uglies (Uglies #1) by Scott Westerfeld
Pretties (Uglies #2) by Scott Westerfeld

I also scored quite a few books and puzzles for my son, all $0.25-$0.50 each. I left the book sale spending less than $20. 😀

Audiobooks:

Finding Cinderella (Hopeless, #2.5) Landline

I already read (listened to) both of these.  Finding Cinderella I had had on my Kindle for soooo long, I gave in and got the audio.  It was really great and exceeded my expectations.  Landline I had preordered long before its release, so I downloaded it immediately the morning of its release day and started it promptly 30 minutes after that.  I liked this one as well, I just didn’t love it like I thought I would.  (Reviews of both coming this week.)

Borrowed:

Flat-Out Celeste (Flat-Out Love, #2) A Little Something Different Talon (Talon, #1) Chasing Power

Flat-Out Celeste I found I was able to borrow from Amazon for free.  Totally excited about this!  I hope to get to it soon.  A Little Something Different, Talon and Chasing Power the fantastic Nereyda was sweet enough to let me borrow.  Thanks, my friend!! 🙂

Currently Reading/Listening:

A Little Something Different The One and Only

Reading:  A Little Something Different – I’m not sure how I feel about this one yet.  I just started it today.  There are A LOT of different perspectives, but it seems really fun so far.

Listening: The One and Only – I’m really not enjoying this one too much at the moment.  I’m still pretty early on, so I’m hoping it gets better.

  • So excited for One Past Midnight. Happy reading.

  • Nereyda is the best kind of blogger buddy! I borrowed a few ARCs from her last week, too!

I requested the Ann Aguirre 2B ARCs from Netgalley, so hopefully I get those–I love the covers so much!

THE LANDLINE AUDIO IS SOOOOOOOOO GOOD! <–Yes, I'm shouting that! I love that narrator. I used the audio as a reread the other day, and I just can't get enough! <3

    Great Book Haul!

  • Been hearing good things about Chasing Power. It looks like you got a nice mix of books. The Ann Aguirre books are supposed to be really good.

  • Looks like a good haul! I hope you enjoy them all — I keep meaning to try reading some of Ann Agguire’s work.

  • OOoh awesome haul! I especially enjoyed Demonglass! Loved the whole Hex Hall trilogy! Sad that her spinoff is either on hold or canceled totally, can’t be sure where it’s at these days with her new series starting.

Loved Talon! Hope you enjoy all your new reads!

My STS will be up tomorrow, so be sure to stop by then!

    Have a GREAT day!

  • Lovely haul, I’m so jealous of Talon. Seems everyone has it but little old me 😀

  • OMG Promposal looks so cute! I am so jealous of your borrows… I want to read Talon so bad! And I already told you I was coveting your copy of Demon Glass! Awesome Haul!!

  • Yay for the Backstreet Boys books! Promposal sounds so cute. The others are new to me although I have read the Hex Hall series. I’m waiting for the Colleen/Cinderella audiobook.
So happy that the books got to you safely. I didn’t know A Little Something Different was told in 14 POV’s, wowza! Hope you like Talon and Chasing Power. Enjoy your books!

  • Cool haul. Love those Aguirre titles. Enjoy your new reads 🙂

    Happy Sunday!

  • Awesome haul! Jealous of Talon and chasing power!

  • Ahhh, I so can’t wait to get Talon! I read Between the Lives (One Past Midnight) this week and oh, a little darker than I thought it would be. So. good. though. Happy reading! 🙂

  • Ooo, so many great Harlequin books! I also got Aguirre’s new books, but I haven’t received Talon… OMG I can’t wait to read Talon!! I hope you love it!! Nereyda is fabulous, isn’t she. Even more blog-stalking to commence ;D Happy reading!!

    Have a fantastic week!

    Check out my STS post!

  • The Uglies series is so good, especially if you acknowledge the language. You’re gonna love it!

  • Finding Cinderella was kind of adorable. 🙂 I would have probably borrowed Flat-Out Celeste instead of buying it, but I have no idea when I’ll get to it, so $0.99 didn’t seem like a lot to secure it for future reading one day. 🙂

  • NICE!! I am so in love with audiobooks! they are my new found fab cause we can clean and cook while reading!! What perfection is this?!?! I can’t wait to hear what you thought about the Scott Westerfeld books. They are interesting to say the last. Also the Jenny Han. Enjoy all your steals my dear and have a lovely weekend.
