I have been anticipating Nothing Less since the moment I finished Nothing More! While I liked Nothing More, it was not really what I was expecting and I was disappointed in the way that Landon’s character came across. I can honestly say that since I have finished Nothing Less, I can see why Landon was so indecisive in Nothing More. In my opinion it was really part of his journey, and part of finding who he was supposed to be with.

Yes, this series is based around a love triangle. Landon is trying to decided who to be with, the new girl in his life Nora who is sexy, mysterious and hard to connect with or Dakota his best friend since childhood and high school sweetheart (who dumped him for a real college experience).

I played favorites of course and always knew who I wanted Landon to be with and I made no secret of it in my last review or in this one, Dakota was selfish, self centered and only wanted what she threw away because someone else had it. Nora, while closed off and angsty seemed like such a better fit for me. I will not spoil it and say who Landon ended up with, I will say that Anna Todd actually made understand (but still not like) Dakota more in this book.

The reason the title of my review is “The Landon I was hoping to see” is because Landon became a man instead of a little boy in this book! He took charge, became more confident in himself and really grew up! I think a lot of it had to do with the girl he “chose” she gave him more confidence and it was noticeable every single time that he was with her.

I was shocked at the twists and turns that Anna Todd inserted! I am not easily surprised and I certainly was with this one! SO many things happened (especially toward the end) that I really did not see coming and it really made the book more exciting for me!

Oh and there were a few sneak peeks of Tessa and Hardin in this one which was awesome! I also love the banter between Landon and Hardin and enjoyed having that again!

One thing that was tough was that during the Epilogue a lot was left out because the reader should have already known what was happening. A lot of it was explained in the final book of After (After Ever Happy) and because I had read that so long ago I had trouble remembering a lot of the details.

To sum up, I really enjoyed Nothing Less and the entire Landon series. Even though it did not have the same magic the After series had for me, I have always loved Landon and really enjoyed his story. I highly recommend this series if you are as much of an After fan as I am!

  • Once I finished the After series I decided not to continue on with Nothing More. But your review has me rethinking that. I always liked Landon’s character and I’m thinking maybe I should give his books a try. I enjoyed reading your thoughts on this one!
