You've seen the headlines: Womanizing billionaire player! Watch out! Stay away!
We were just two strangers. Facing a forbidden attraction, a chemical connection. Neither of us expected or wanted it to amount to more. But I had never been drawn to a guy the way I was drawn to this one: my brother's best friend, and CEO of the company where I interned.Even knowing I should stay away, I proved to be too human, after all.The chemistry was amazing. The laughs were incredible. I opened up to him in more ways than I'd opened up to anyone before. But sex was as far as I'd go. Just sex because he was too irresistible.Just sex because I wouldn't be falling for him.Just sex because I'd leave in three months, and I'd like for my brother not to kill me, and for nobody to find out he was my wicked little secret. He wasn't the One. He was just a womanizer. But for a time, he would be mine.
“So the saying goes, there are two dogs barking over your shoulder, fear or determination. Which one wins? The one you feed. Never feed the dog who’s afraid.”
The Manwhore series is the first series I have read by Katy Evans and I have been in love since book one! I have been eagerly anticipating Callan’s story since briefly meeting him in the other books in the series. Also, after meeting Olivia (Livvy) Tahoe’s little sister in Ladies Man I COULD NOT WAIT to see these two together!
Livvy is turned down for job at a firm in her hometown because of her “inexperience” and big brother Tahoe calls in a favor and gets her a Summer internship at Callan’s company. Livvy makes the move from Texas to Chicago and is so excited to start her new position and learn from the best! On her first day, Livvy meets a stranger at the rooftop lounge area and shares a smoke with him dubbing him “sexy smoker guy.” The two immediately connect but don’t exchange names or numbers. They continue to bump into one another and some very sexy antics ensue. Until they find out who each other are and things get decidedly more complicated.
I freaking loved Callan! He was confident, sexy, self assured and surprisingly deep. The talks that he and Livvy had were such an awesome part of the book because they connected in such a real way that it leaped off the pages! I loved Livvy too, she was beautiful, yet adorable and determined but also had this soft, vulnerable side that I adored. The sparks between these two were electric! And even though their were some typical contemporary “tropes” they totally worked and did not come off cliched at all! I loved every moment they spent together and just wanted more!
“Don’t talk, act. Don’t say, show. Don’t promise, prove.” He slices an invisible path in the air with his hand. “Your actions and your words should always be in line.”
Throughout the book we got to see the other couples that we loved so much and I that is always a favorite of mine! Rachel and Saint, Tahoe and Gina made their appearances at different stages in their relationships and I seriously loved it!
I may have liked this book the most out of the entire series and that’s saying something because I really have enjoyed this whole series! Something about Callan and Livvy just made me fall hard! I highly recommend this series if you are a fan of Adult contemporary romance! I think that fans of The Beautiful series by Chrisitna Lauren would enjoy this series!
Katy Evans writes romance that has just the right amount of swoony sexiness and heart stopping fluffy moments that fill up your heart and keep you coming back for more! I cannot wait to see what she comes up with next!
“I learned you can’t always count on your life plans to go your way. Sometimes some higher power somewhere has a bigger picture. Puts you where you didn’t expect to be. To learn what you need to learn. Life sometimes doesn’t run in the cycles it’s expected to. We are all here for a blink. Life changes in a blink. We fall in love sometimes, in a blink.”
