The second installment in the all-new series from the masterful, #1 NEW YORK TIMES bestselling author Maggie Stiefvater!
Now that the ley lines around Cabeswater have been woken, nothing for Ronan, Gansey, Blue, and Adam will be the same. Ronan, for one, is falling more and more deeply into his dreams, and his dreams are intruding more and more into waking life. Meanwhile, some very sinister people are looking for some of the same pieces of the Cabeswater puzzle that Gansey is after…

becca chatsI eagerly dove into The Dream Thieves after finishing The Raven Boys. I had heard that this book was based largely on Ronan and I was curious to learn more about him. As with The Raven Boys I was quickly pulled in Dream Thieves. I found this book even more magical than Raven Boys!

The Dream Thieves is based largely on Ronan and I really enjoyed getting to know him more. He is such a complex character! I don’t want to spoil this for anyone who hasn’t read this, but I will say that I found the magical elements totally fascinating and very unique! I thought that Maggie Stiefvater did an amazing job of building those components.

Once again I found myself in love with Blue and the Raven Boys, each character adds so much to this group and eqch brings something totally different. They are total #squadgoals 🙂

“In that moment, Blue was a little in love with all of them.
Their magic. Their quest. Their awfulness and strangeness.
Her raven boys.”

The search for Glendower continues in this book and learning more about Cabeswater and what is on the Ley Line was also a large part and I enjoyed the journey and how things were slowly revealed.

I found myself totally fascinated, if not a bit skeptical at some events toward the end. But in all I truly enjoyed this book and the developments throughout it.

The trick with found things, though, is how easily they can be lost.
Friends can betray.Mothers can disappear.Visions can mislead.Certainties can unravel.

I think that Blue Lily, Lily Blue is my favorite cover from this series! I also really loved this book! Once again I was wrapped up in the magic and the darkness. This series has both paranormal and Fantasy elements and I found myself really loving both sides.

I think Blue Lily, Lily Blue may be my favorite book in this entire series! For a few reasons, one being  there was an intense level of suspense and I loved it! The Villains in this one were awesome as well ! Greenmantle and his wife Piper were total lunatics and added a unique element to this book! Also, the character development was AMAZING! I felt as though I got to know different sides of all of them Gansey not quite so perfect, vulnerability in Ronan, fierceness in Blue, Adam finally admitting some faults, a darker side to Noah! OMG! So much amazingness! Blue’s family also had a new dynamic that I loved to see. Not to mention characters like Jesse Dittley and The Gray Man totally growing on me!

“Blue was perfectly aware that it was possible to have a friendship that wasn’t all-encompassing, that wasn’t blinding, deafening, maddening, quickening. It was just that now that she’d had this kind, she didn’t want the other.”

I think that the thing I enjoyed the most about this book was that it set everything up for an epic finale! It ended on this precipice where I could almost feel all of the answers floating around in the air! I felt as though Glendower and the secrets of Cabeswater were all within my reach! But also, a terrifying fear for Gansey and Noah and what is to become of them is always in the back of my mind.

The romance isn’t a large part of this series and I like that about it. But Blue and Gansey??? My heart!! There are so many moments that left me breathless! I just love the slow burn of them. There is also something else brewing in this one that I hope to see play out more in The Rvaen King… that is all I will say on the matter!

I started the Raven King almost immediately after finishing this because I could not wait for all of those answers and for everything to come together! I will be reviewing The Raven King very soon!

Great reviews! This is one of my all time favorite series. 🙂 Ronan and The Gray Man both grew on me in these two.

Oh gosh, I’ve read these books 3 times each haha! It’s one of the only series I’ve read more than once (besides Harry Potter). It honestly improves each time because there are all these little bits that you notice the second time and I just love the characters and the magic! I can’t decide which book is my favorite but it’s one of these two for sure. I’m so glad you loved them!
